Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is the nation’s largest provider of traffic safety products and services, with 60+ branch locations nationwide. The Traffic Control Technician will set up and take down lane closures on highways, redirect traffic, and handle delivery and pickup of safety products from job sites.

The role requires operating company trucks, driving MOT/TMA vehicles, setting up signs and cones, and maintaining work zones with a strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. Driver’s License with a good driving record.
• 1–3 years of experience and 2,000 field hours in traffic control.
• Must pass a background check and motor vehicle records check.
• Must pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
• Wear PPE: boots, hard hat, safety glasses, vest.
• Ability to read and write for paperwork and road signs.
• Must read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented.
• Knowledge of state/local roadways and able to operate delivery vehicles.
• Able to lift up to 70 pounds.
• ATSSA TCT intermediate training completed.
• Willingness to travel statewide, with possible overnight stays.
• Occasional nights/weekends and rotating on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials/equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and worksites.
• Drive TMA vehicle for worker protection.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards.
• Set up traffic cones and other safety devices.
• Monitor the work zone to ensure items stay in place.
• Load and unload traffic control items at shift start/end.
• Install and reset delineators, signs, posts and supports.
• Perform shop maintenance and repair of equipment.
