Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is seeking a Traffic Control Technician to set up and dismantle lane closures on state highways and roadways, ensuring worker safety on projects. The role includes transporting equipment, and delivering safety products from job sites, while following contractor directions.

You will operate MOT and TMA vehicles, install signs and cones, monitor the work zone, and perform occasional shop work.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• 1–3 years in traffic control with 2,000 field hours.
• Able to pass background check and drug test per DOT requirements.
• Wear PPE: boots with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest.
• Read and interpret traffic control plans and road signs.
• Willingness to travel statewide, with possible overnight stays; nights/weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on worksites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to protect workers and work zones.
• Set up temporary construction signs and traffic control devices.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards in work areas.
• Install traffic cones and safety devices; monitor work zone.
• Load and unload traffic control items at shift start/end; perform shop maintenance.
• Follow safety rules and company policies; perform any other duties as assigned.
