Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems Reno, NV is seeking a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and take down lane closures on state highways, redirect traffic for crews, and work independently or with a crew.

Responsibilities include operating trucks, driving MOT and TMA vehicles, placing signs and cones, and maintaining safety throughout shifts. Travel statewide, night/weekend work, and rotating on-call schedule are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License.
• 1–3 years of experience in traffic control.
• 2000 field hours required.
• Background check including motor vehicle records."
• Drug test and DOT requirements must be met.
• Wear safety equipment (boots, hard hat, glasses, vest).
• Ability to read plans and ensure traffic control plans are followed.
• Knowledge of state/local roadways and vehicle operation.
• Able to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Willingness to travel statewide, overnight stays, nights/weekends.
• ATSSA TCT intermediate training is required.
• Mechanical background is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on work sites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards.
• Set up traffic cones and other safety devices.
• Monitor the work zone to keep items in place.
• Collect and load traffic control items at shift start/end.
• Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports.
• Perform shop work and basic equipment maintenance.
• Follow all safety rules and Company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
