Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems, Inc. in Texas is seeking a Traffic Control Technician to set up and take down lane closures, protect workers, and direct traffic in work zones on state highways and local roads.

You will operate company trucks, manage MOT and TMA vehicles, place signs and cones, install safety devices, and perform routine maintenance while following safety rules and DOT regulations. Travel statewide and some night/weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License.
• 1–3 years of traffic control experience with 2,000 field hours.
• Able to pass background checks, including motor vehicle records.
• Willingness to travel statewide and work nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on work sites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to and from projects and on work sites to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards in work areas.
• Set up traffic cones and other traffic safety devices in work areas.
• Monitor the work zone throughout the shift to ensure items remain in their proper locations.
• Collect and load traffic control items at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports.
• Perform shop work, including general maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
• Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.
