Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems Sparks, Nevada is seeking a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and take down lane closures and ensure safety on state highways and local roads.

This role requires driving company and MOT/TMA vehicles, reading traffic control plans, and complying with DOT requirements. Flexible hours, travel statewide, and willingness to work nights and weekends are needed.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• 1-3 years in traffic control with 2,000 field hours.
• DOT regulations knowledge and drug test clearance.
• ATSSA TCT intermediate training must be completed.
• Ability to read plans and traffic control plans.
• Willingness to travel statewide and work nights/weekends.
• Mechanical background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT vehicle to and from projects and on work sites.
• Drive TMA vehicle to and from projects and on work sites to protect workers and work zones.
• Place temporary construction signs in work areas.
• Position arrow boards or variable message boards in work areas.
• Set up traffic cones and other safety devices in work areas.
• Monitor the work zone for proper placement throughout the shift.
• Load and unload traffic control items at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports.
• Perform basic maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
