Job summary

City Rise Traffic in Bakersfield, CA, is hiring a Traffic Control Associate to manage traffic around active work zones. You will signal drivers using Stop/Slow paddles and help set up barricades and cones while coordinating with crew leaders.

A valid California driver's license and a clean driving record are required; LIUNA membership is preferred for journeyman roles, ATSSA flagging certification can be provided in-house.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• ATSSA Flagging certification or in-house certification offered by the company.
• Valid CA driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent focus on safety in all tasks.
• Coordinate traffic flow using signals, signs and plans around the work zone.
• Set up, maintain, and tear down work zones per regulations.
• Communicate with customers, the public and team members.
• Keep equipment organized and functioning in vehicles.
• Follow Caltrans MUTCD guidelines where applicable.
• Drive company trucks as needed and support field operations.
