Job summary

Helix Traffic in Massachusetts is seeking a Traffic Control Apprentice to help maintain safe traffic flow around construction zones. You will use handheld signs, paddles, or flags, set up zones, and ensure motorists and pedestrians follow safety guidelines.

This frontline safety role requires full-time availability, the ability to stand 8+ hours, a valid driver's license, and passing a drug screen. Flagger Certification training is provided by the company.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; traffic control experience preferred.
• Must pass drug screen and have a valid driver's license.
• Able to stand for 8+ hours and work in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Control traffic around work zones using signs, paddles, or flags.
• Set up, maintain, and remove signs, barricades, and cones per requirements.
• Communicate with drivers to guide safe traffic flow.
• Monitor traffic and safety hazards at worksites.
• Coordinate with supervisors using radios and hand signals.
• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Warn workers when signals are ignored to prevent incidents.
• Assist with loading/unloading traffic control equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
