Job summary

Helix Traffic Solutions, LLC is seeking a Traffic Control Apprentice to join our field teams. You will help manage traffic around construction zones, protect workers and the public, and follow safety guidelines while learning the essentials of traffic control.

You will setup and maintain temporary work zones, communicate with drivers using signs and signals, and collaborate with supervisors to ensure smooth, safe operations in diverse outdoor environments across Massachusetts.

• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic around work zones using signs, paddles, or flags.
• Set up, maintain, and remove temporary traffic control zones with signs, barricades, and cones.
• Communicate clearly with drivers to guide safe traffic flow.
• Monitor traffic and construction activity to identify and respond to hazards.
• Coordinate with supervisors and team members using hand signals, radios, or other communication tools.
• Wear and follow PPE and safety protocols at all times.
• Assist with loading/unloading traffic control equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
