Job summary

Helix Traffic is seeking a Traffic Control Apprentice in Lebanon, NH to maintain safe traffic flow around work zones and support construction and maintenance activities. You will serve on the front line for safety, using hand signs, flags, and radios to guide motorists and pedestrians.

The role requires outdoor work, 18+ years old, and a willingness to learn safety procedures. Training includes a flagger certification provided by the company at orientation, with shifts that vary daily.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Flagger certification provided at orientation.
• Must pass drug screen and have a valid driver’s license.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors.
• 18+ years old and available for varying shifts.
• No prior experience required; willing to learn safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic using signs, paddles, or flags.
• Set up and remove traffic control zones per regulations.
• Communicate with drivers to guide traffic.
• Monitor traffic to anticipate hazards.
• Coordinate with supervisors using radios.
• Wear PPE and follow safety protocols.
• Warn workers when signals are ignored.
• Assist with loading/unloading traffic control equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
