Helix Traffic Solutions, LLC is recruiting a Traffic Control Apprentice to manage traffic around construction zones and ensure worker and driver safety. The role requires standing for long periods, teamwork, and adherence to safety guidelines.

Training and flagger certification are provided at orientation, with opportunities to grow within a national network. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour, with on-site work across the Northeast/Springfield area.

Qualifications

• Must be a team player and follow safety practices.
• Ability to communicate instructions clearly and politely.
• Attention to detail with professional demeanor.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen.
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Age 18+ and able to stand 8+ hours.
• Traffic control/Flagger certification provided at orientation.

Responsibilities

• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic around work zones using handheld signs, paddles, or flags.
• Set up, maintain, and remove temporary traffic control work zones including signs, barricades, and cones according to project requirements and regulations.
• Communicate clearly with drivers to provide guidance and ensure safe traffic flow.
• Monitor traffic and construction activity to anticipate and respond to potential safety hazards.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other team members using hand signals, radios, or other communication equipment.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing PPE.
• Warn workers when approaching vehicles fail to heed signals to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Assist with loading/unloading traffic control equipment as needed.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
