Helix Traffic Solutions, LLC is seeking a Traffic Control Apprentice to help maintain safe traffic flow around construction zones and incidents. You will learn to set up, monitor, and remove traffic control devices while following PPE and safety protocols.

The role involves outdoor work, travel to multiple sites, and paid on-the-job training with opportunities for advancement. A high school diploma is preferred and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Must pass a drug screen.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Stand for extended periods (8+ hours).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic around work zones using handheld signs, paddles, or flags.
• Set up, maintain, and remove temporary traffic control zones with signs, barricades, and cones.
• Communicate clearly with drivers to provide guidance and ensure safe traffic flow.
• Monitor traffic and construction activity to anticipate safety hazards.
• Coordinate with supervisors and team members using hand signals or radios.
• Adhere to safety protocols including wearing PPE.
• Warn workers when vehicles ignore signals to prevent accidents.
• Assist with loading/unloading traffic control equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
