Job summary

Ernesta Home, Inc. is seeking a Retail Trade Account Executive to grow our local trade business with interior designers, architects, and other trade partners.

You will manage a portfolio of accounts, develop new business, and activate opportunities through proactive outreach and excellent service. You will spend 20–30% of your month engaging in the trade community, delivering design expertise, and building lasting partnerships.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of relevant experience in interior design, home furnishings, architecture and design sales, trade sales, or account management.
• Entrepreneurial and self-motivated with drive to grow a book of business.
• Commercially minded with goals for sales and relationship growth.
• Highly organized with strong time management and follow-through.
• Comfortable prospecting and initiating new relationships with clients.
• Confident communicating one-on-one and to groups, including designers and firms.
• Curious, consultative, with ability to listen deeply and tailor solutions.
• Solutions-oriented with sound judgment and integrity.
• Capable of managing multiple accounts, projects, quotes, samples, and timelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication across in-person, phone, email, text, and video.
• Comfortable using digital tools and CRM systems for sales activity.
• Willingness to travel locally for meetings and events.
• Flexible retail schedule including evenings, weekends, or events.

Responsibilities

• Build and grow Ernesta’s local trade business by developing relationships with interior designers, architects, and trade partners.
• Own a portfolio of trade accounts and drive repeat projects, retention, and revenue growth.
• Identify, prospect, and acquire new trade accounts through outreach and networking.
• Activate new trade accounts by understanding their business and tailoring Ernesta offerings.
• Spend 20–30% of time externally meeting the trade community.
• Develop understanding of partners’ business and project pipelines to provide personalized support.
• Deliver expert product and design guidance across materials, sizing, and custom services.
• Provide a consultative sales experience with tailored solutions for each project.
• Maintain organized pipeline with next steps, timelines, and growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with Showroom Leader and Design Assistants to deliver a seamless showroom experience.
• Host and support showroom events to strengthen Ernesta’s presence.
• Share feedback with internal teams to improve products and services.
• Track performance against goals for revenue, accounts, pipeline, and retention.
• Represent Ernesta with professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm.
