Job summary

Ernesta is seeking a Retail Trade Account Executive to grow the local trade business by building relationships with interior designers, architects, and other trade partners. You will manage a portfolio of accounts, drive repeat projects, and expand the showroom footprint through events and outreach.

You will spend 20–30% of time engaging with the trade community, delivering design expertise, and maintaining a proactive sales process to meet growth targets.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of experience in interior design, home furnishings, architecture/design sales, trade sales, or related field.
• Ability to build strong professional relationships and trust with clients over time.
• Entrepreneurial and self-motivated with drive to grow a book of business.
• Commercially minded with sales and relationship-growth goals.
• Highly organized with strong time management and disciplined follow-through.
• Comfortable prospecting and initiating new relationships.
• Confident communicating to groups including designers, architects, and design firms.
• Willing to travel locally for trade meetings and events.
• Able to work a flexible retail schedule including evenings, weekends, or events.

Responsibilities

• Build and grow Ernesta’s local trade business by connecting with interior designers and trade partners.
• Own a portfolio of trade accounts and drive repeat projects and revenue growth.
• Identify and acquire new trade accounts through outreach, referrals, and networking.
• Activate new trade accounts by understanding their business and opportunities to support projects.
• Spend 20–30% of time meeting the trade community in person.
• Develop understanding of partners’ needs to provide tailored support and solutions.
• Deliver product and design expertise across materials, sizing, and customization.
• Maintain an organized pipeline with next steps, timelines, and growth opportunities.
• Represent Ernesta with professionalism and a genuine passion for design.
