Job summary

Watco is seeking a Track Laborer to safely inspect, repair, and maintain railroad track infrastructure across our yards and lines. This manual labor role trains personnel in essential duties, including loading, unloading, maintenance, and reading regulatory materials.

The position emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork to support reliable rail service. Candidates will be trained through Watco's programs and must pass required safety tests.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass and/or obtain all reporting, testing, and certifications as required for this position.
• Track Ground School and FRA and other safety training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain railroad track infrastructure and related components.
• Assist with loading/unloading and installation of rail materials and cross ties.
• Maintain track surface, gauge, turnout components, and roadbed rehabilitation.
• Inspect and report conditions; read safety rules and operating instructions.
• Operate equipment such as backhoe and track hoe.
