Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older at minimum.
• CDL Class A or B may be required for vehicle operation.
• Must meet FMCSA medical qualifications for commercial drivers.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Railroad Maintenance of Way.
• Proficiency with welding or welding certification is preferred.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and working outdoors in varied weather.
• Ability to work on-call, overtime, and weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Handle, unload and move track materials and equipment from rail cars or trucks.
• Remove and replace rails, rail anchors, spikes, ballast, ties and other parts.
• Work with equipment; dig holes and trenches as needed.
• Observe track condition and ensure safety and FRA compliance.
• Develop positive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors and customers.
• Drive company vehicles as required.
• Maintain track beds by clearing vegetation and sweeping dust or snow.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
