Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad is hiring a Track Laborer - Driver Eligible to join our maintenance team. You will help build and sustain tracks, perform inspections, operate equipment, and support safe railway operations across North America.

A CDL may be required during probation, with strict adherence to FMCSA standards and FRA rules. Applicants must be 21+, have a valid license and good MVR, and be prepared for on-call work, travel, and physically demanding tasks on rail sites.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Maintain acceptable driving record (MVR).
• CDL may be required for GVWR ≥ 26,000 lbs during probation.

Responsibilities

• Handle, unload and move track materials and equipment from rail cars, carts or trucks.
• Replace rails, anchors, spikes, ballast, ties and other parts as needed.
• Work with equipment; dig holes and trenches as required.
• Observe track beds and right-of-way for problems or defects.
• Follow safety rules and FRA regulations.
• Develop positive working relationships with coworkers and customers.
• Drive company vehicles as needed.
• Maintain track beds and clear vegetation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
