Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC seeks an experienced Toolmaker for a Hastings, Michigan facility to build, repair, and maintain high-precision tooling for a high-volume production environment.

You will read engineering drawings, set up manual and CNC machines, perform precision grinding, inspect tooling with precision measuring tools, and support continuous improvement while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role offers competitive hourly pay on 2nd/3rd shifts and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Completion of Tool & Die apprenticeship or equivalent with 4+ years toolmaker experience, or 8+ years progressive toolmaker experience.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling including dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and production tooling.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD prints, and specifications to determine machining methods and material needs.
• Plan and perform precision machining, bench work, fitting, assembly, and finishing of tooling components with tight tolerances.
• Set up and operate mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and CNC Tool Room equipment.
• Perform precision surface grinding to achieve accuracy and finishes.
• Diagnose tooling failures and implement repairs to minimise downtime.
• Maintain a clean, safe Tool Room and support continuous improvement initiatives.
