Job summary

Sora Resource Group in Bellevue, OH, is seeking a Tooling Design Engineer to own end-to-end NPI and lead tooling design across a diverse manufacturing landscape. You will create 3D CAD models, tooling, fixtures, and technical documentation while coordinating BOMs and ERP data with vendors.

The role requires collaboration with leadership on capital equipment projects, hands-on work on the factory floor, and a focus on continuous improvement with a casual, team-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required.
• Minimum of five years of tooling design experience in manufacturing.
• Experience reading blueprints and working with 2D/3D CAD software.
• Experience with ERP BOM creation and maintaining routings in ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end NPI from RFQ through production launch.
• Create 3D CAD models, tooling, fixtures, and documentation; validate with simulations.
• Establish and maintain BOMs, routings, work centers, and standards in ERP.
• Conduct tooling tryouts, root-cause analysis, and optimize OEE by reducing scrap and downtime.
• Scope, ROI justification, and manage capital equipment timelines with vendors.
