Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking a Tool Crib Coordinator on 2nd shift (2:00PM-10:30PM) for our Torrance, CA aerospace plant. The role oversees gage inspection equipment, tooling setup, and calibration processes in the Aircraft Group’s Machine Shop, ensuring timely maintenance and accurate calibration.

Training is available on 1st shift (6:00am-2:30pm). You will coordinate tool orders, manage calibration scheduling, and work with machinists to prevent downtime while supporting Lean/Kaizen initiatives and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred or demonstrated ability to read and apply work instructions in English.
• Experience with tool setting and kitting.
• Experience with all gage inspection equipment.
• Experience with supporting Machine Shop operations such as tooling, inspection equipment, racking, and cabinets.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Accountable for all gage inspection equipment used in the Aircraft division’s Machine Shop, ensuring calibration timing and accuracy.
• Set up and kit tooling in designated areas to streamline setup time and improve on-time delivery.
• Coordinate and/or lead processes and activities to support department or functional operations.
• Process over 20,000 inspection gages across the Aircraft Group’s Machine Shop, Processing and A&T.
• Track calibration needs weekly/daily using the Tooling and Equipment Database (TED) and manage gage locations and condition.
• Return calibrated gages to the proper shop department and order replacements for damaged or missing gages.
• Work with machinists to find or replace gages missing or damaged during calibration cycles.
• Set tooling on work orders in designated areas and build tooling packages to create priority.
• Perform day-to-day admin functions supporting Machine Shop operations including purchases for tooling and inspection equipment.
• Coordinate team resources to meet daily delivery priorities through tiered management and process improvements.
• Provide technical expertise on operations, procedures, and regulatory concerns (FOD and Government audits).
• Identify and initiate Lean/Kaizen improvements to reduce costs and increase quality and efficiency.
• Assist in developing employees to support department growth.
• Maintain knowledge of government-owned fixturing and locations of tooling.
