Job summary

ACME is seeking a Tool Crib Attendant to support 2nd shift machining operations. You will assemble, preset, and stage cutting tools and consumables, ensuring accurate labeling and fast access before jobs begin.

You will work with machinists and supervisors to respond to live requests, manage inventory, and maintain a tidy, OSHA-compliant crib to minimize downtime and keep production moving smoothly.

Qualifications

• 3:00 PM–11:30 PM availability.
• Manufacturing or machining environment experience.
• Basic knowledge of cutting tools (inserts, end mills, holders).
• Ability to read and interpret job setup sheets.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Drive Production Readiness by assembling and presetting tools per setup sheets.
• Coordinate with 2nd shift machinists to ensure tooling is ready before start.
• Respond quickly to live tooling requests and replenish tools.
• Communicate shortages or quality issues to supervisor and leadership.
• Minimize machine downtime due to tooling.
• Issue and receive tooling and consumables; record transactions.
• Maintain crib layout for fast access and labeling.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist cycle counts.
• Keep crib clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant.
• Collaborate with machinists and setup teams to anticipate needs.
• Assist with basic tooling troubleshooting and reconditioning as directed.
