Job summary

The Department of Motor Vehicles (SCDMV) in Lexington, SC is seeking a Titling & Licensing Specialist III to handle driver licenses, registrations, titles, and related tasks for customers and business entities. You will also administer knowledge tests and verify applications for compliance with SC laws.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work with DMV software and hardware. Some relocation within 30 miles may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service and public-facing roles.
• Ability to explain DMV policies and procedures to customers.
• Willingness to complete CDL trainer course and examinations.
• Must pass nationwide criminal background check and fingerprinting.
• Ability to work with Phoenix System and related hardware.

Responsibilities

• Examine, accept, prepare, enter and print documents for licenses, permits, registrations and titles.
• Coordinate with banks, lienholders, insurers and dealerships for licensing and verification.
• Process motor vehicle registrations and research suspensions or dealer licenses.
• Administer CDL knowledge and skills tests as required.
• Assist customers with inquiries on driver, vehicle, registration, titling and insurance requirements.
• Operate equipment and maintain a neat, stocked work area.
