Job summary

State of South Carolina’s DMV is seeking a Titling & Licensing Specialist III at the Shop Road DMV Branch Office in Columbia, SC. You will examine, enter and print documents for licenses, titles, registrations, and related items, and manage licensing for banks, lienholders and dealerships.

The role requires knowledge of SC DMV policies, the ability to administer CDL knowledge tests, verify eye screenings, process fees, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with clerical experience.
• Must complete CDL knowledge test examiner trainer course and examination.
• Must pass nationwide background check including fingerprints.
• Ability to retain DMV policies and explain procedures.
• Working knowledge of the Phoenix System and related hardware.

Responsibilities

• Examine, prepare, enter and print documents for licenses, permits, titles and registrations.
• Manage licensing for banks, lienholders, dealerships and other customers.
• Process motor vehicle registrations and issue licenses and titles.
• Administer CDL knowledge tests and review applications for fraud or license restrictions.
• Handle fees, donations and daily reconciliations; maintain records and equipment.
