Job summary

State of South Carolina's Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking a Titling & Licensing Specialist I in St. George, SC.

The role focuses on issuing licenses, registrations and titles while ensuring accuracy, compliance with state laws and DMV policies, and delivering excellent customer service. The position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) with clerical experience, plus the ability to complete CDL testing trainer/coursework and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus clerical experience.
• Ability to retain knowledge of DMV policies and procedures and explain them to customers.
• Able to pass New Employee Training and have working knowledge of the Phoenix System and related hardware.

Responsibilities

• Issues licenses, permits, identifications, titles and registrations for various vehicle categories.
• Manages business customers and sponsors licensing, insurance issues and customer numbers.
• Processes motor vehicle registrations, suspensions, and dealer licenses.
• Responds to customer inquiries about drivers, vehicles, registrations and insurance requirements.
• Operates equipment to issue credentials and collects fees; reconciles daily reports.
