Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus clerical experience.
• CDL test examiner trainer course and examination training requirement.

Responsibilities

• Examine, accept, prepare, enter and print documents for licenses, permits, IDs, registrations and titles.
• Manage business customer needs such as licensing, insurance issues and verifying client numbers.
• Process motor vehicle registration requests and research suspensions; issue dealership licenses.
• Determine services eligibility from SC laws and DMV policies.
• Administer knowledge tests for Class A– CDL licenses.
• Verify eye screenings and review applications for fraud and license restrictions per policy.
• Answer customer inquiries on driver, vehicle, registration and insurance requirements.
• Operate camera system, fax, SCDMV software and equipment to assist customers.
• Collect fees and donations; reconcile daily reports and refund documents; compute vehicle sales taxes.
• Handle surrendered plates; box surrender plates and fulfill pickup requests; keep area stocked.
• Maintain transaction payments by cash, card, check or money order; maintain records of issued/destroyed documents.
• Perform related duties such as IRP/IFTA, LiveScan and international transactions.
