Qualifications

  • Bending and light lifting up to 10 lbs.
  • Strong organizational skills and being detail-oriented.
  • Previous vehicle title experience and title handling.
  • Ability to recognize title brands and notations.
  • Ability to type and use 10-key proficiently.
  • Sitting and standing for extended periods.
  • Extensive handwritten and computer work.
  • Valid Notary or ability to become Notary.

Responsibilities

  • Process and re-assign titles for vehicles sold by the auction.
  • Examine vehicle title for accuracy and conformity to requirements.
  • Verify acceptance of the title in the filing state.
  • Confirm VIN, odometer reading, releases of liens, and that titles contain no alteration.
  • Determine negotiability of title document and assess for potential fraud; report discrepancies.
  • Resolve titling issues by interacting with customers, dealers and regulators; negotiate price adjustments if needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of current DMV laws and interpret titling regulations per state.
  • Receive and route calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Process sale-day transactions and provide customer service.
  • Resolve customer issues as presented or upon notification.
  • Work exception queues and complete documentation for submission.
  • Request Power of Attorney and funds for state fees.
  • Complete title validation and receive POA documents.
  • Monitor aging of titles and retrieve new title docs from state.
  • Update & validate exception titles in the system; record costs of fixing titles.
  • Notarize documents.

Job description


  • Process and re-assign titles for vehicles sold by the auction.

  • Examine vehicle title for accuracy and conformity to specified requirements.

  • Verify acceptance of the title in the state for which it is filed.

  • Confirm accurate title VIN number, odometer reading, releases of liens, and that titles contain no alteration, etc.

  • Determine negotiability of title document and assess for potential fraud. Report any title discrepancies.

  • Resolve titling issues through interaction with customers, dealers and regulatory agencies. Work with manager/supervisor to negotiate price adjustment between buyer and seller for a title problem, if necessary.

  • Maintain knowledge of current DMV laws and regulations as they relate to vehicle titles and interpret titling regulations in each state for which vehicles are processed.

  • Receive and route telephone calls in a courteous and efficient manner to the appropriate personnel or department.

  • Perform other duties such as processing sale day transactions and providing customer service.

  • Resolve issues with customers, as they are presented either upon discovery or in response to a customer call.

  • Work exception queues identified by the system.

  • Resolve exceptions by completing documentation, submitting to the State, and/or working with the customers.

  • Request Power of Attorney (POA) from customers.

  • Request funds to pay state fees.

  • Complete title validation.

  • Receive POA document sent by the customer.

  • Monitor aging of titles.

  • Retrieve new title docs sent by state.

  • Update & validate exception title in the system.

  • Record costs of fixing title.

  • Notarize documents


Qualifications:

Minimum


  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.

  • OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and up to 1 year of experience;

  • OR 5 years' experience in a related field.

  • Effective communication skills and a strong customer service attitude.

  • Bending and light lifting 10 lbs. or less

  • Must have strong organizational skills and be very detail-oriented

  • Previous vehicle title experience and title handling

  • Ability to recognize title brands and other relevant notations related to titles is a requirement

  • Ability to type and use 10-key proficiently required

  • Sitting and standing for extended periods of time

  • Extensive detail handwritten and computer work

  • Valid Notary or ability to become Notary required


Work Environment:

Office Setting


USD 21.83 - 32.79 per hour


Compensation:

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $21.83 - $32.79/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.


Benefits:

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
