J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College is seeking a Title III Project Director to lead the college’s grant program and oversee strategic initiatives within the Title III framework.

Reporting to the Vice President of Strategy, Innovation and Technology, you will coordinate with Grants Management, project leads, stakeholders, and an external evaluator to implement activities, track budgets, and ensure timely, compliant reporting to the U.S. Department of Education.

Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reporting to the Vice President of Strategy, Innovation and Technology, the Title III Project Director is responsible for managing the college’s Title III grant, working with the Director of Grants Management, project leaders, stakeholders, and an external evaluator to ensure all grant related activities are implemented, grant spending occurs in accordance with approved budgets and timelines, and all reporting is completed per the requirements of the Department of Education.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years project management experience.
  • Considerable knowledge and ability to conduct sound research and write strong expository and persuasive reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform work that involves high level issues, processes, or organizational needs, and the ability to make recommendations that impact project budgets.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of constituencies including students, faculty, administrators, staff and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Office and appropriate software to the extent required to effectively perform the essential functions.
  • Experience managing large grant-funded projects.
  • Experience conducting mixed methods research and working with an external evaluator to monitor and track progress towards meeting project goals and targets.

Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel

Occasional travel may be required.
