J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College is seeking a Title III Project Director to lead grant activities, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure accountability for budgets and timelines.

The role reports to the VP of Strategy, Innovation and Technology and works with an external evaluator. Ideal candidates bring at least 3 years of project management experience, strong research and reporting skills, and proven ability to meet deadlines while communicating effectively with diverse constituencies

Hiring Range: Salary commensurate with experience. Hiring range is $70,000-$80,000.

Job Description

Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse, culturally competent staff at all levels of the organization who reflect the demographics of our students. We also believe in providing an ongoing investment in our faculty and staff to deepen their skills and competencies to serve the full range of our student population.

Reporting to the Vice President of Strategy, Innovation and Technology, the Title III Project Director is responsible for managing the college’s Title III grant, working with the Director of Grants Management, project leaders, stakeholders, and an external evaluator to ensure all grant related activities are implemented, grant spending occurs in accordance with approved budgets and timelines, and all reporting is completed per the requirements of the Department of Education.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years project management experience.
  • Considerable knowledge and ability to conduct sound research and write strong expository and persuasive reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform work that involves high level issues, processes, or organizational needs, and the ability to make recommendations that impact project budgets.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of constituencies including students, faculty, administrators, staff and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Office and appropriate software to the extent required to effectively perform the essential functions.
  • Experience managing large grant-funded projects.
  • Experience conducting mixed methods research and working with an external evaluator to monitor and track progress towards meeting project goals and targets.
