Job summary
Leidos is seeking a Tier III operations and maintenance engineer to support WAN/LAN networks. You will resolve incidents, implement routing and firewall changes, and act as a subject matter expert in WAN/LAN technologies.
The role requires TS/SCI with CI poly, extensive network troubleshooting, and coordination with configuration and implementation teams. On-call afterhours and security compliance are part of duties.
Qualifications
- 16 years of experience or equivalent combination of work history and education.
- DoD 8140 IAT Level 2 compliance.
- Experience configuring/breaking boundary protection technologies.
- Experience with Juniper and Cisco routers and switches.
- Knowledge of OSPF, BGP, VPNs, VRF, MPLS.
Responsibilities
- Support operations and maintenance activities for LAN/WAN networks including OSPF, BGP, VRFs, VLANs, VRRP, MPLS.
- Monitor performance of systems and networks.
- Configure and test hardware, networking software, and OS.
- Review user requests for upgrades and assess impact on network performance.
- Perform tier 3 troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Prepare troubleshooting procedures to restore network performance.
- Provide fault and performance management for the network.
- Respond, isolate, and resolve network troubles.
- Coordinate with configuration management and implementation teams.
- Analyze network characteristics and recommend modifications to components.
- Optimize network topologies and site configurations.
