Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Tier III Network Operations and Maintenance engineer to support WAN/LAN networks, incident resolution, and changes to routing and firewall configurations. You will act as a subject matter expert in WAN/LAN technologies and support data communications systems and network segments.

Qualifications include TS/SCI with CI poly, DoD 8570 IAT Level 2, and extensive experience configuring OSPF, BGP, VRF, MPLS, and VPNs.

Qualifications

• Requires TS SCI CI Poly security clearance.
• 16 years of experience or equivalent education/experience.
• IAT Level 2 per DoD 8570.
• Experience configuring boundary protection technologies.
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot Juniper and Cisco devices.
• Experience with VPNs, NAT, IP subnetting and security concepts.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Visio).

Responsibilities

• Support O&M activities for LAN/WAN networks (OSPF, BGP, VRF, MPLS).
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot faults.
• Configure and test hardware and networking software.
• Assess user requests and recommend practical technical approaches.
• Perform tier 3 troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Prepare troubleshooting procedures to restore network performance.
• Provide fault and performance management support.
• Respond to and resolve network incidents.
• Generate network management reports and input data.
• Coordinate with configuration management and implementation teams.
• Analyze network characteristics and recommend changes to components.
• Optimize site topologies and configurations.
• Document current networks and user requirements.
• Maintain systems, software, and IT utilities.
• Ensure Open Systems Architecture standards compliance.
