Job summary

Leidos has an opening for a Tier III O&M engineer to support WAN and LAN networks for our government customer. You will provide incident resolution, routing and firewall changes, and act as a subject matter expert in WAN/LAN technologies.

You will monitor network performance, configure hardware/software, and coordinate with implementation teams. Occasional after-hours on-call and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with CI polygraph required.
• 16 years of combined experience/education per DoD standards.
• DoD 8140 IAT Level 2 compliance.
• Experience configuring boundary protection technologies (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Forcepoint).
• Experience with configuring Juniper and Cisco routers and switches.
• Experience with OSPF, BGP, VPNs, VRFs, MPLS.
• Knowledge of routing, switching, IP subnets, NAT and security technologies.
• Ability to read schematics and manuals for supported equipment/software.
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide incident resolution for WAN and LAN networks.
• Configure, test hardware and networking software.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Review user requests and advise on practical technical approaches.
• Perform long-term O&M activities and Tier 3 troubleshooting.
• Prepare troubleshooting procedures to restore network performance.
• Provide fault and performance management for the network.
• Respond to and resolve network troubles; after-hours on-call as needed.
• Coordinate with configuration management and implementation teams.
• Analyze network characteristics and recommend topology changes.
• Maintain and update network documentation and configurations.
