Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Tier III O&M network engineer to support WAN and LAN networks. You will handle incident resolution, routing and firewall changes and serve as SME for WAN/LAN technologies in a DoD-focused environment.

Responsibilities include configuring gear (OSPF, BGP, VRF, MPLS), monitoring performance, performing Tier 3 troubleshooting, and coordinating with implementation teams. The role requires TS/SCI CI poly and DoD 8570 IAT2 compliance.

Qualifications

• 16 years of combined work history and education required (e.g., Doctorate + 8 years, etc).
• DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 certification required.
• Experience configuring/troubleshooting Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, and Forcepoint appliances.
• Experience with Juniper and Cisco routers and switches.
• Experience with OSPF, BGP, VPNs, VRF, MPLS.
• Knowledge of boundary protection best practices.
• Understanding of routing, switching, IP subnetting, NAT, and security technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and documentation for supported equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support operations and administer LAN/WAN networks (OSPF, BGP, VRFs, VLANs, VRRP, MPLS).
• Monitor performance of systems and networks.
• Configure and test hardware and networking software and operating systems.
• Assess impact of user upgrade requests and provide practical guidance.
• Perform Tier 3 troubleshooting and long-term O&M activities.
• Prepare troubleshooting procedures to restore network performance.
• Provide fault management and performance monitoring tasks.
• Respond to, isolate, and resolve network troubles.
• Coordinate with configuration management and implementation teams.
• Analyze network characteristics and recommend procurement or modifications.
• Optimize network topologies and site configurations.
• Coordinate requirements with users and document current configurations.
