Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Tier III Network Operations and Maintenance engineer to support WAN and LAN networks, providing incident resolution, routing changes, and firewall updates. You will act as a subject matter expert in WAN/LAN technologies, supporting intra- and inter-network data communications and coordinating with configuration and implementation teams.

Qualifications

• Top Secret clearance with CI poly required.
• 16 years of combined experience and education (e.g., Doctorate 8 yrs, Masters 10 yrs, Bachelors 12 yrs, etc.).
• IAT Level 2 certification required under DoD 8570.
• Experience with boundary protection technologies: Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Forcepoint.
• Experience with Juniper and Cisco routers and switches.

Responsibilities

• Support operations and maintenance activities for LAN/WAN networks.
• Monitor performance of systems and networks.
• Configure and test hardware, networking software, and OS software.
• Assess impact of user requests and recommend practical approaches.
• Perform tier 3 troubleshooting and long-term O&M activities.
• Prepare troubleshooting procedures to restore network performance.
• Provide fault and performance management for the network.
• Respond to network troubles and coordinate resolutions.
• Run reporting and data input for network management.
• Coordinate with configuration management and implementation teams.
• Analyze network characteristics and recommend modifications.
• Optimize network topologies and site configurations.
• Document current site configurations and user requirements.
• Maintain operating systems and related software.
• Apply IT skills to IM applications and open systems.
• Ensure compliance with open systems architecture standards.
• May have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities.
• On-call responsibility for afterhours incidents.
