Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Tier III O&M network engineer to support WAN and LAN networks in a high-security environment. You will provide incident resolution, routing and firewall changes, and serve as SME for WAN/LAN technologies.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, network analysis, and coordination with project teams. Responsibilities include monitoring performance, configuring hardware/software, and advising on practical technical approaches to user requirements.

Qualifications

16 years of experience or equivalent education/work history (Doctorate +8, Master +10, Bachelor +12, etc.).
DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 compliance is required.
Experience configuring and troubleshooting boundary protection technologies (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Forcepoint).
Experience with Juniper and Cisco routers and switches.
Knowledge of OSPF, BGP, VPNs, VRF, MPLS.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with ServiceNow or similar ITSM products.

Responsibilities

Support operations and maintenance activities for LAN/WAN networks (OSPF, BGP, VRFs, VLANs, VRRP, MPLS).
Monitor performance of systems and networks.
Configure and test hardware and networking software.
Advise on changes to meet user requirements and maintain performance.
Perform Tier 3 troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Prepare troubleshooting procedures and support fault management.
Coordinate with configuration management and implementation teams.
Analyze network characteristics and optimize topologies and site configs.
Maintain systems and IT tools as needed.
Afterhours incident resolution may be required.
