Job summary

West Virginia University Health System is seeking a capable IT professional to provide first-level support for network services and infrastructure across WVUHS facilities. The role acts as the onsite Tier 1 service provider coordinating with Tier 2/3 engineers within Enterprise Information Systems.

The candidate will assist with data networking, server OS troubleshooting, and application access, while following change management and documented procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS or related field.
• High School Diploma with 2 years of networking/server experience.
• Internal employees must meet mandatory competencies for promotion within IT.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 network, security, server, and application support onsite.
• Install and rack basic network and security appliances; manage data cabling.
• Monitor UPS and backup power; support Windows servers and OS.
• Assist senior analysts with troubleshooting applications and user access.
• Document issues and follow change management procedures.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or other related field

High School Diploma or equivalent AND Two (2) years of experience in networking and server platform
