The University of Missouri-St. Louis is seeking a Ticket Seller to provide direct customer-focused guest services and conduct retail ticketing operations for Touhill Performing Arts Center. You will handle inquiries, assist patrons, and process sales with a computerized system.

Shifts are event-dependent and require professional communication, accuracy, and a welcoming demeanor. Prior experience in front-of-house operations is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent or comparable knowledge/experience.
  • 6 months of experience or transferable knowledge in customer service or ticketing is desirable.
  • Professional verbal and written communication is preferred.
  • Ability to work long and unusual hours, including late at night.
  • Experience with House Management or front-of-house operations.
  • Understanding of theatrical terminology, equipment, and usages.
  • Good communication skills and customer service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Meet guests and patrons with courteous, attentive service.
  • Answer phones and respond to messages for ticketed events.
  • Provide information on performances, directions, and general queries.
  • Communicate Touhill policies in a welcoming manner.
  • Process sales using computerized ticketing system and accept payments.
  • Reconcile seating discrepancies and escalate complex issues to a supervisor.
  • Complete University-mandated and Touhill-specific training.

Job Description

The Ticket Seller provides direct customer-focused guest servicesto patrons of the facility while conducting retail operations(selling tickets).

Primary Responsibilities
[Customer Focus] – 30%
  • Ensure that guests and patrons of the Touhill are met withcourteous and attentive service
  • Answer phones and respond to messages for ticketed eventswithin the Touhill
  • Provide information to customers about upcoming performances,directions to the Touhill, and other general information
  • Communicate appropriate Touhill policies while maintaining awelcoming and friendly demeanor
  • Fulfill the Touhill’s mission of being a “welcoming place”
[Sales Support] – 30%
  • Process sales primarily by use of computer software programs,including a computerized ticketing system.
  • Process credit card payments and balance all transactions topayment summary; may also process cash and check payments.
[Issues Response] – 25%
  • Reconcile seating discrepancies and other ticketingissues.
  • Escalate more complicated problems to supervisor asneeded.
[Training] – 05%
  • Completing University-mandated training as required.
  • Completing Touhill-specific training (and/or Touhillqualification(s)) as required.

As with all positions, may perform other job-relatedresponsibilities as needed to support departmental and campus-wideneeds.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months of experience fromwhich comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired isnecessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

$19.50-$25.50
