Responsibilities

  • Direct Event Support: clean and maintain spaces before, during, and after events; sweep, mop, vacuum; wipe surfaces; empty trash; restock restrooms; shovel snow when needed.
  • Supervision: supervise and participate in running event support crews; train staff as needed.
  • Reception Setup: safely set up portable seating and tables per client requests.
  • Delivery and Dispersal Support: receive, unload, and load deliveries; organize areas for subsequent events.
  • Training: complete university-mandated and Touhill-specific training.

Job Description

The Event Support Lead provides guidance and supervision whileperforming operational support for performances, events, and venueactivities by assisting with the maintenance, cleaning, andorganization of venues used.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Event Support – 30%
  • Under general direction, in support of events, clean andmaintain the performance and presentation spaces before, during,and after events:
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum
  • Wipe down surfaces
  • Empty trash and replace liners
  • Restock restrooms
  • Under certain circumstances, shovel snow from entryways ortreat areas
Supervision – 30%
  • Supervise and participate in running department specific eventsupport crews toward successful completion of tasks; leaddepartments with venue preparations for events.
  • Supervisors will train subordinate employees in specificmethods and machinery as needed to support the client’s needs andthe professional development of the employee.
Reception Setup – 10%
  • Under supervision, safely set up portable seating, and tablesto match client requests.
Delivery and Dispersal Support – 25%
  • Under supervision, receive, unload and load deliveries of itemsand equipment from semi/box trucks as necessary.
  • Organize areas that were utilized in preparation for subsequentevents.
Training – 5%
  • Complete University-mandated training as required.
  • Complete Touhill-specific training (and/or Touhillqualification(s)) as required.

As with all positions, may perform other job-relatedresponsibilities as needed to support departmental and campus-wideneeds.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and some work experience fromwhich comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired isnecessary

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to transport objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to work long and unusual hours, including late atnight.
  • Willingness to work hard and take direction.
  • Experience and comfort with working at heights in elevatedpositions.
  • Experience in event or theatrical setup and production (anyarea of emphasis).
  • An understanding of theatrical terminology, equipment, andusages.
  • Good communication skills and customer service experience isrecommended.
Anticipated Hiring Range

$17.50-$21.50
