Job summary

The Salvation Army Seaside Thrift Store in San Francisco is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily operations, coach staff, and ensure a high standard of customer service in support of the ARC and our Do The Most Good mission. Two years of retail management experience, strong communication, and the ability to lead teams are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years Retail Management/Supervisory experience.
• Must operate POS/Cash Register and schedule/supervise staff.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and provide proof of insurance.
• Must pass background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Takes active role with Store Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Assumes responsibility in absence of Store Manager.
• Provides coaching and training to store employees.
• Ensures customer/donor needs are met and issues resolved.
• Coordinates daily morning and shift change team meetings.
• Supervise employees to ensure compliance with directives.
• Train new personnel on store policies and procedures.
• Protects property and ensures ARC standards are met.
• Handles time and attendance paperwork per policy.
• Assist with safety measures and weekly store meetings.
