Job summary

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries Rehabilitation Center, Inc. is seeking a Retail General Manager to oversee daily store operations, including production activities and the selling floor. You will drive customer service, merchandising, inventory control, budgeting, and reporting.

The role requires strong leadership to define roles, train staff, manage schedules, and ensure compliance with safety and loss-prevention standards while maximizing store profitability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• 2–3 years of progressive retail management experience supervising 15+ staff.
• Minimum 5 years retail/related experience.
• Experience coaching and developing associates in retail.
• Full Profit & Loss ownership.
• Proficiency in scheduling store staff.
• Effective English communication (oral & written).
• Strong math and computer skills.
• Knowledge of thrift/resale industry.
• Customer service orientation with strong interpersonal skills and integrity.
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel to other locations if required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all store operations, including opening/closing procedures.
• Manage production levels and ensure merchandise quality for revenue optimization.
• Control inventory of all merchandise lines.
• Ensure smooth flow of donations with safety and compliance.
• Maintain staffing, payroll, and training per Goodwill policies.
• Supervise volunteers and temporary staff as needed.
• Complete timely reporting (surveys, production, sales).
• Analyze profit & loss and adjust operations accordingly.
• Ensure daily banking and payroll deadlines are met.
• Foster exceptional customer service and resolve complaints.
