Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries in Ohio is seeking a Retail General Manager to oversee daily store operations, production, and the retail floor. The role includes budgeting, inventory control, merchandising, and staff development, with accountability for performance and ensuring excellent customer service.

The GM will lead a team, coordinate donations, manage scheduling, and drive profitability while maintaining safety and compliance across locations.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college preferred.
• Two to three years of retail progressive management experience supervising multiple departments/staff.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in retail or related industry.
• Experience selecting, assessing, coaching, and developing associates, preferably in retail.
• Full Profit & Loss ownership.
• Proficiency in setting and managing store staff schedules.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Strong math and computer skills.
• Broad knowledge of thrift and resale industry with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform functions performed by direct reports and complete paperwork promptly.

Mansioni

• Oversee daily retail store operations, including opening/closing procedures.
• Oversee production levels and merchandise quality on the sales floor to maximize revenue.
• Manage inventory levels across all merchandise lines.
• Monitor donations flow, ensuring compliance with standards, security, and state laws.
• Maintain staffing levels and manage payroll per Goodwill policies.
• Oversee volunteers and temporary labor as needed.
• Prepare reporting such as surveys, production and sales reports.
• Review P&L statements and adjust operations accordingly.
• Ensure daily banking requirements are met and staff schedules are aligned with store needs.
• Manage time and attendance through the timekeeping program and meet payroll deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with divisions and other stores; resolve customer issues.
• Create an atmosphere of exceptional customer service for internal and external customers.
• Comply with organizational policies and reduce store turnover through training and motivation.
• Other duties as assigned.
