Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville seeks a certified Medical Technologist to join the Mary and Elizabeth - UMC laboratory on the third shift. You will collect blood specimens and perform hematology, chemistry and microbiology testing, and prepare samples for reference laboratories.

You will maintain equipment, perform QC/QA per CLIA, document results in the EHR, and assist with inspections. A valid MT certification (ASCP/NCA/AMT) and a Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences field are required; 1 year of

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Technologist by ASCP, NCA, or AMT.
• Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience.
• Experience in a physician office setting preferred.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens and perform hematology, chemistry and microbiology testing in house.
• Process specimens and prepare for reference laboratory.
• Communicate with reference laboratory regarding specimens and procedures.
• Utilize Allscripts EHR for reporting tests and communicating with providers.
• Perform routine maintenance, calibration and standardization of laboratory instruments.
• Maintain quality assurance and documentation per CLIA requirements.
• Maintain neat and safe laboratory work environment.
