Job summary

UC Health is seeking a part-time Certified Medical Technologist II for the Core Lab at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center on the third shift. The MT II will perform routine and complex laboratory analyses, identify problems, and apply independent judgment to ensure accurate results.

Qualifications

• MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or MLT(ASCP) certification or equivalent.
• Associate degree in a clinical laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology.
• Knowledge of specimen requirements.
• Familiar with laboratory terminology.
• Laboratory assay schedules and expected turnaround times;
• ability to read and comprehend written information
• ability to effectively and efficiently perform a variety of job duties in a stressful, fast paced environment

Responsibilities

• Performs waived, moderately complex, and highly complex testing as defined by CLIA.
• Performs special analyses that require advanced evaluation and judgment skills.
• Operates, maintains, and repairs clinical laboratory equipment within the scope of training.
• Maintains currency in the field through mandatory competencies and training, and provides instruction for students and new associates.
