Job summary

UofL Health's JHHS - Jewish Hospital - UMC in Louisville, KY seeks a Medical Technologist to perform hematology, chemistry and microbiology testing with stringent quality control. You will communicate with reference labs, use Allscripts EHR, and maintain procedures to ensure CLIA compliance while supporting patient care.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a science field or Medical Technology, a MT certification, and at least 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science field or medical technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent CLIA certification.
• ASCP/NCA/AMT MT certification required.
• Minimum 1 year experience; pediatric setting preferred.
• HIPAA compliance and safety training are required.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens and perform hematology, chemistry and microbiology testing.
• Perform urinalysis, microscopy, rapid strep screens and throat cultures as ordered.
• Prepare specimens for reference laboratory and communicate with the lab.
• Maintain QA, inventory and instrument calibration; report QC results.
