Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Thermal Engineer to join the Lunar Core Components Heat Transfer team, developing thermal hardware for lunar landers and related systems. You will design, size, build, and test hardware, working with cross-functional teams to meet rigorous verification standards.

The role emphasizes CAD, CFD, and heat transfer expertise, with a path toward ownership of hardware development and contribution to safe human spaceflight.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 3+ years of relevant Thermal Engineering experience.
• Strong grasp of heat transfer and fluid system fundamentals.
• Familiarity with heat exchangers, cold plates, and other spacecraft hardware.
• Demonstrated experience designing, sizing, building, and testing hardware.
• Understanding of aerospace hardware verification and validation process.
• Moderate experience with CAD software; preferably Creo.
• Familiarity with CFD simulation methods for component-level analysis.
• Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams to deliver results.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a team of Thermal Engineers developing thermal hardware for lunar landers and related architectures.
• Drive designs through build, test, and verification processes.
• Apply technical leadership and commitment to quality to support safe human spaceflight.
