Job summary

RTX is seeking an early career Thermal Engineer to join the MA&T Department. The engineer will perform detailed thermal analyses across product lifecycles, from design studies to production support, using tools such as FloTHERM and ANSYS.

The role emphasizes independent work, accuracy, and collaboration with experienced analysts. Responsibilities include planning, data reduction, model correlation, and presenting results to customers while meeting cost and schedule targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 2+ years of experience, or an advanced STEM degree.
• Experience performing thermal analyses using FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA, ANSYS or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations to scope higher detail analysis models.
• Conduct detailed thermal analyses to address program challenges.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware against requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models.
• Collaborate with peers on moderate complexity problems and meet cost/schedule constraints.
• Review work with peers for technical accuracy.
• Present results to internal, external, and government customers.
• Create detailed documentation and archive work for reference.
