Job summary

RTX seeks an early-career Thermal Engineer for the MA&T Department. The role covers detailed thermal analyses across product lifecycles, from design trades to production support. You will apply hand analyses and finite element methods, with peer reviews and collaboration across teams, including test planning and data reduction.

The position requires a STEM degree with 2+ years of related experience or an advanced degree, and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM bachelor’s degree with 2+ years experience or an advanced degree substituted for 2 years of experience.
• Experience in thermal analysis using FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA, or ANSYS.
• Ability to apply mechanical principles to classical thermal analysis and to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations to scope higher detail analysis models.
• Conduct detailed thermal analyses to address program challenges.
• Create test plans to validate analyses and ensure hardware compliance.
