Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking a Therapy Program Coordinator Assistant at the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center in LaGrange. The role oversees Therapy Program Assistants and Behavioral Health Technicians, coordinates patient group sessions, and supports treatment plans within a secure hospital setting.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least three years of therapeutic or patient care experience; college may substitute for missing years of experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Three years of therapeutic or patient care experience.
• College may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis up to two years.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the work of Therapy Program Assistants and Behavioral Health Technicians within the recovery services department. Trains staff on duties and assigns coverage.
• Coordinates staffing and leads patient group sessions per treatment plans; facilitates psychoeducational skill development.
• Monitors care and safety during ADL/IADL, assigns escorts to groups and appointments on and off grounds; uses de-escalation techniques.
• Ensures documentation of patient participation and progress; leads quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborates with treatment team to plan and provide treatment; attends required staff meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
