Job summary

UofL Health seeks a Behavioral Health Program Coordinator to plan and coordinate structured therapeutic activities for patients across pediatrics to geriatrics. The role collaborates with nursing leadership to maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu and advocates for patient rights.

The position requires a Bachelor's in counseling psychology or related health degree, with 5 years clinical experience in behavioral health; a Master's is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology or related health field is required.
• In lieu of the degree, a minimum of 5 years clinical experience in the unit, program or field.
• Master’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct structured therapeutic activities for patients on the unit.
• Provide leadership to unit staff and collaborate with nursing leadership on programming.
• Maintain therapeutic milieu and de-escalate crises as needed.
• Assist nursing staff with patient care tasks such as ADLs and specimen collection.
• Coordinate communication among patients, families, physicians, and health disciplines.
