Job summary

ISS STOXX is hiring research analysts for the Rockville, MD or Washington, DC offices for the spring shareholder meeting season, with a January/February 2027 start and a May/June 2027 end, depending on schedule.

Analysts will draft proxy vote reports, research shareholder proposals, and study governance issues including board matters, executive compensation, and environmental concerns, while coordinating with internal teams and meeting deadlines during peak weeks.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent editing, reading comprehension, writing and oral communication skills.
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, a self-driven work ethic, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to work within a team-oriented environment and communicate with internal parties.
• Willingness to work long hours and weekends during peak weeks (mid-April through May).
• Bachelor's degree or higher, plus relevant work experience in business or corporate social/environmental issues.

Responsibilities

• Analyze information to draft reports and issue proxy vote recommendations based on ISS STOXX policy guidelines.
• Perform research on shareholder proposals for annual meetings of publicly traded companies.
• Develop understanding of subscriber expectations on governance issues such as human rights, worker treatment, climate, and sustainability reporting.
• Understand governance issues including board of directors, shareholder rights, audit issues, compensation, and mergers/acquisitions.
• Discuss policies and vote recommendations as appropriate.
• Perform other research-related tasks as assigned.
