Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS STOXX) in Washington, DC, is hiring a Research Analyst for the Environmental & Social Research team. The seasonal position runs February to May 2027, with start/end flexibility and interviews beginning in November 2026.

You will analyze environmental and social shareholder proposals, evaluate corporate disclosures, and support investor decision-making with written research and proxy voting recommendations. Strong writing and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher, plus relevant work experience preferred in business, corporate social and environmental issues, or other corporate fields.
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Analyze environmental and social shareholder proposals and prepare written research reports supporting proxy voting recommendations.
• Evaluate company responses to shareholder proposals and assess board oversight and responsiveness to environmental and social risks.
• Develop knowledge across sustainability topics including climate change, human capital management, human rights, and corporate political spending.
• Research public disclosures, regulatory filings, investor communications, and other sources to support objective analysis and recommendations.
• Engage with representatives from public companies, institutional investors, and other market participants to gather information and clarify findings.
• Respond to inquiries regarding research methodologies, policy interpretations, and vote recommendations.
