Job summary

ISS STOXX is hiring research analysts to join the Thematic Research teams in Rockville, MD or Washington, DC for a spring season term (Jan/Feb 2027 to May/June 2027) with 40 hours per week in the office.

The role involves drafting proxy vote reports, researching shareholder proposals, and understanding governance topics from environmental and social perspectives. Peak weeks may require overtime during mid-April through May.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher; relevant work experience preferred in business or governance-related fields.
• Strong analytical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent editing, reading comprehension, and written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze information to draft reports and issue proxy vote recommendations based on ISS STOXX policy guidelines.
• Perform research on shareholder proposals to be voted on at annual shareholder meetings of publicly traded companies.
• Develop an understanding of subscriber expectations on governance issues, including human rights, worker treatment, animal welfare, climate change, sustainability reporting.
• Develop an understanding of governance issues, including board of directors, shareholder rights, audit issues, compensation, and mergers/acquisitions.
• Discuss policies and vote recommendations as appropriate.
• Perform other research-related work and duties as assigned.
